Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business

Overview

The HND is an internationally recognised level 5 qualification that provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required today by global organisations. Generally an HND is the equivalent to two years at university. You will gain specialist knowledge and understanding in key concepts of business, marketing, accounting and law, alongside the ability to apply this knowledge to real world business situations. Experienced tutors will introduce you to the dynamic world of business through case studies, group work and business projects and extracurricular activities. The course has been designed to provide specialist knowledge of business and accounting. This course is made up of 16 units that reflect the knowledge and skills that employers are seeking from graduates, such as business decision making, management accounting and marketing principles.

What are the benefits of an HND or HNC?

Unlike many degrees, these courses are vocationally focused and therefore can lead straight on to a career. Moreover, they’re a great stepping stone up to a higher qualification, as you can choose to ‘top up’ an HND or HNC with extra studies at a later date, in order to convert it to a full bachelor’s degree
