Awarding body Overview

Established in 1915, the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM) is the leading awarding organisation and professional body for business leaders and professional and aspiring business and administrative managers. Their 20,000 students and professional members are responsible for the management and administration of systems, people and processes. Their roles are vital in enabling organisations to maintain a competitive advantage.


IAM Qualification courses at Global London

The IAM Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administration supports those already working in, or aspiring to work in, business management positions. The qualification can be studied individually, or as part of the IAM Level 4 Higher Level Apprenticeship (Package B). The IAM Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas in Business and Administrative Management support those already working in, or aspiring to work in, business management positions. Holders of the qualifications will also be eligible for progression to various UK university degree programmes.

Career Prospects

Students may progress on to a wide variety of Undergraduate and Masters qualifications or alternatively take up employment in a variety of professions. Students may also progress to the IAM Level 6 Diploma and Level 6 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management.

Diploma level 4 Entry Requirements
  • A student must fulfill at least one of the following criteria along with an IELTS score of 4.5 to be allowed entry to the program:
  • Possession of an IAM's Certificate Level-3 or equaling Qualification.
  • Possession of an IAM's Certificate Level-3 in another subject.
  • 12 years of Secondary and Higher Secondary educations from overseas countries.
  • Two years senior management experience

  • Diploma level 5 Entry Requirements

  • A student must fulfill at least one of the following criteria along with an IELTS score of 5.0 to be allowed entry to the program:
  • Possession of an IAM's Diploma of Level-4 or equaling Qualification
  • Possession of an IAM’s Diploma of Level-4 in another subject
  • 14 years of Secondary, Higher Secondary and Undergraduate Educations from Overseas Countries.
  • Four years senior management experience (students must check with London Waltham College regarding this experience prior to registering for the course).

    Rule of combination (RoC)

    To achieve the IAM Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administration candidates must achieve a minimum of 40 credits. Candidates must complete all eight mandatory units, worth a total of 40 credits.

    Progression

    Those who complete the IAM Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administration qualification could progress to the IAM Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management or the IAM Level 5 Diploma in Business and Administration.

    This qualification leads to further studies in management at level 6 and to higher education.

    Examinations
    Examinations are held in March, June, September and December each year. The college will arrange your exam applications with the IAM. Examinations are held and invigilated at the college.

    Certification and grading
    The units are not graded individually; candidates may pass or fail. However, they will be informed of the percentage value of their achievement. On the successful completion of the full qualification they will receive a qualification certificate graded as pass, merit or distinction.
